Meet our featured Grower of the Month, LODESTAR CANNABIS

Lodestar cannabis was founded in 2019, but the owners have been cultivating in the medical market in Maine since March of 2015 and cultivating cannabis since 2011 in Eureka, CA.

Our ethos has always been to do what’s best for the plant and catering to the smokers. A common phrase used in our early years here was “What’s best for the weed?” This has been our guiding philosophy for the last 8 years. We have always prided ourselves on growing mouth-watering cannabis, rich in terpenes, with discernible effects based on strain.

Tell us about your cultivation process.

We cultivate in coco coir 3L biopots under HID lighting. The smaller pots give us more control over the drybacks in the root zone to help the plant reach its full potential (along with environmental and lighting adjustments throughout the cycle).

We have a small, dedicated grow staff of two, that have been with us for 4 and 6 years respectively (technically Matt’s been with us from almost the start as a trimmer when he was still working in the beer game). They are assisted in defoliating by some of the harvest and packaging crew.

It is a small operation with a lot of heart.
