CBD Rich Strains x SeaWeed Co. Edibles
Here at SeaWeed Co. we’ve been extra excited about our new line of CBD rich edibles and we wanted to dive into why they’re the best in the biz (in our humble opinion 😉)
What are the benefits of mixing CBD and THC?
THC and CBD have very similar properties, but they interact with our body in a slightly different way. Recent studies have shown that THC binds to receptors in our bodies and creates the high, CBD doesn’t bind well to those receptors on it’s own. In fact, when THC and CBD are both present, CBD can “get in the way” of how the THC binds. Many people feel like CBD can take the edge off of a THC high and make it feel less intense, which makes sense, since CBD is non-intoxicating. Combining the two can give you the benefits of both THC and CBD with a potentially less intense high.
What makes SeaWeed Co. edibles stand out in a seemingly saturated market?
SeaWeed Co. edibles are special because they’re made using strain-specific live resin, not distillate, so all of the unique properties of the strains that we use come through in the edibles.
We have a few new edibles that recently hit our shelves, Blueberry Pomegranate Pâte de Fruit in the strain Persephone’s Tonic, Blueberry Pâte de Fruit in the strain Joint Relief and Strawberry Lemonade Hard Candy in the strain Willy’s Medicine, that we are extra stoked on because all of these strains are naturally CBD rich and create a balanced THC:CBD effect.
What is the difference between THC and CBD and why do we like to see high levels of both?
While THC and CBD are both naturally occurring cannabinoids in cannabis, most strains that you see on the market only contain high levels of THC and very low level of CBD (or none). Over the years, a lot of cultivators have worked to breed out the naturally occurring CBD in their strains to cater to the demand for higher levels of THC and more intense highs – while these qualities are great for various reasons, we have also acknowledged that there is an increasing demand and need for 1:1 strains. Studies have shown that even though it is non-intoxicating, CBD has a lot of beneficial properties such as acting as an anti-inflammatory, reducing anxiety, and helping with sleep.
We are proud to be working with cultivators that produce CBD-rich strains so that we can utilize the benefits of the whole plant.
How do SeaWeed Co.’s THC:CBD products differ from other options on the market?
A lot of similar products on the market use a blend of THC extract and CBD extract, mixing two separate products, in an attempt to artificially create the same 1:1 THC:CBD effects. While there is nothing wrong with this process, it can unfortunately strip away the elements that make each strain unique.
At SeaWeed Co. we’ve been using strains that naturally contain high levels of CBD for our live resin so we can retain the benefits of the whole plant.

Please note that each person reacts to cannabis/CBD and individual strains differently based on THC and CBD content, terpenes, etc. We encourage you to meet with one of our knowledgeable Budtenders to find a product and strain that will best fit your personal needs!
