WHO WE ARE

SeaWeed Co. is a Maine owned Recreational/ Adult Use cannabis company with retail stores in Portland and South Portland. We are proud to be one of the first Recreational shops to open in the State of Maine in 2020, and the first to open in Portland in 2021!

We believe that cannabis can enhance well-being and that the effects of cannabis are best experienced when used the right way, with the right dose, at the right time. The way each person experiences cannabis is highly personalized and is impacted by a user’s experience, location, and state of mind.

Our mission is rooted in a love for the Maine community and culture – People oriented, community driven, education-based.

Leadership

Scott Howard, Principal

“I grew up on a self-sustaining farm in South Paris, Maine, and have been involved in Maine culture and community for almost my entire life. After college, I decided that I wanted to work for myself and went on to start a sea urchin diving business. Moving forward, I went where I saw need, leading to the opening of Maine Rock Gym in Portland in 1994 which evolved into EVO Rock + Fitness in 2015.

In 1995 I became a Fly Fishing Guide and was endorsed by The Orvis Company. In the same year I started Olivia’s Garden, an environmentally sustainable greenhouse named after my first daughter. My life’s work has always revolved around things that I genuinely enjoy while also supporting and building community.

With my 25 year background in cultivation I saw an opportunity to work with these beautiful plants and SeaWeed Co. was born.
